Stay in bed late on “Suddenly Sleepy Saturday”, but make sure it has wheels!

Bring four of your friends and a fast bed to the 5th Annual Narcolepsy Bed Race. We will be raising money for Narcolepsy Network while having a great time racing beds around a course at the parking lot of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia. Narcolepsy Network is a non-profit organization providing support and working to educate, advocate, and improve awareness of this neurological sleep disorder. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest bed, the most funds raised, and for the best design, so let your creative spirit run wild (but tastefully!).

Mark your calendars for March 11, 2017! We look forward to seeing old friends and new faces for a fun filled “Suddenly Sleepy Saturday”! Be sure to check out pictures from past races for inspiration!

Narcolepsy in Ireland has supported the Narcolepsy Bed Race since the very beginning.  The Bed Race traditionally participates in the Roanoke, VA St. Patrick’s Day Parade in recognition of our Irish supporters. They helped us come up with an appropriately sleep related and authentically Irish theme to use on our St. Patrick’s Day racing bed:

The Salmon of Knowledge

The story is well known - in Ireland and the UK. Here in the United States, not so much. We have fun with it anyway!
